How to leave a review on FlipKey
1. Find the home you have rented on FlipKey
You can either access the property listing using the direct link (if you have it) or go to FlipKey, search for the city you visited, and find the home where you stayed. Owners and property manager may also send their past guests an invitation to leave a review directly on their FlipKey property page. If you receive this email, simply click the orange Write a Review button in the body of the email, and you will be directed to the review page.
Once you have found the property page, click the Reviews tab above the property photo to bring you to this property's reviews section. From there, click Write a Review. You can also scroll down to the bottom of the listing page to find additional reviews.
2. Describe your rental experience
Tell everyone about your stay. Remember to mention any great or surprising moments and whether the listing matched your expectations. Sharing your comments about the location of the home, your experience renting from the property owner/manager, as well as something special or unique about the property will help future travelers decide if a particular home fits their needs.
3. Preview and submit your review
Check the box certifying that the review and opinions are based on your personal experience. Click Preview to see how your review will display on the site once it has been approved. When you are finished click Submit.
Do I have to create an account to leave a review?
Yes. You will be required to create an account with TripAdvisor (or sign in to an existing account) in order to successfully leave a review. Creating an account with TripAdvisor allows you to easily keep track of properties that you have reviewed in the past, save trip information, and engage with the largest travel community in the world.
What language should I use to write my review?
To ensure that your review is posted on both FlipKey and TripAdvisor, we recommend writing your review in English. You can use an online translator, such as Google Translator, to translate your review to English.
While reviews left in other languages will be published on the appropriate TripAdvisor listing, Flipkey cannot include reviews in languages other than English at this time.
Will the homeowner/manager see my review before it is published?
No. To preserve the legitimacy of FlipKey’s review process, the review text and star rating are not shared with the homeowner/property manager until after the review has been posted on FlipKey and TripAdvisor.
Once a review has been left for a property, the owner/manager is required to confirm their guests’ stay. The review will be published once the guest has been validated and the review approved by TripAdvisor’s content and authenticity team. We strive to feature the world’s largest collection of authentic vacation rental guest reviews to provide travelers with a sense of trust and credibility when booking a home on FlipKey and TripAdvisor. We encourage you to provide feedback specifically about the property and your experience working with the owner/manager throughout the rental process.
Will I receive confirmation when my review is published?
Yes. You will receive an email confirmation once your review has been received, and we will also notify you once the review has been posted on the property listing page.
Can I edit my review?
No, a review cannot be edited once it has been submitted. If you need to resubmit your review with changes or have it removed, please contact us.
Can I include photos with my review?
Yes. You are welcome to include photos with your review. Please make sure that the images you’d like to upload are relevant to your experience at the vacation rental and have helpful captions. Duplicate photos and irrelevant photos will not be published.
Why hasn’t my review been published yet?
It can take up to two weeks for a review to be published on FlipKey and TripAdvisor. This is because all reviews are checked individually by TripAdvisor’s content team to ensure that only verified reviews are published.
Check to make sure that you received a confirmation email from TripAdvisor at the time that you left the review. Don’t forget to look in your spam folder, just in case. If you did not receive an email confirming that your review was received then FlipKey encourages you to resubmit your comments using the Write a Review link on the property listing.
